FIRST BAPTIST - BREAUX BRIDGE, LA

We had a wonderful week at First Baptist Breaux Bridge. Pastor Rod Jackson and his people were so faithful and God blessed their faithfulness and the preaching of the Word. It was a joy to work with Evangelist Lyndon Longoria. My how the Lord used him. We rejoice in the way God blessed. There were 6 saved and several came to be a part of the fellowship. This weekend I will be with Bro. Step Martin at the Good News Baptist Fellowship in Dozier, AL. Dozier is near Opp and Andalusia in South Alabama.

A SPECIAL DAY!

JUNE 22 IS A RED LETTER DAY IN THE HARRIS HOME!

43 years ago today, Ann and I stood at the altar in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto, MS and became man and wife. Praise the Lord for a great life and ministry together.

I thank the Lord for giving me an understanding and gifted wife. She is a wonderful wife, a wonderful Mimi to her 6 boys and to her children. If you see this today drop her an e-mail at mimiannie@aol.com.

On a lazy Saturday morning in Satsuma, AL a sweet baby girl was born in the local hospital. Through a providential series of events - Melodie came to live in our home. That was in 1966. She is such a wonderful Mother to her boys: Brandon, Blake and Baylor. She is a great musician and one of the sweetest people God ever created. We never think of Melodie being adopted unless we are just sharing how she came to be a part of our lives. Happy Birthday Melodie up there in Hoke's Bluff, AL.

A Week At Home!!

This has been a good week. Ann and I are trying to recover from our trip to Romania, and have had two of our grandsons with us. They have really been sweet. We found a V.B.S. and have Jackson (6 years old) enrolled. Jake was just a little too young (4) for us to slip him in. Already this week we have been swimming and enjoyed the Family Life Center at our church (Calvary in Shreveport).

Sunday through Wednesday of next week, I'll be at the First Baptist Church of Breaux Bridge, LA. This is in crawfish country. Pray for me and for Evangelist Lyndon Longoria as we minister there.

We are still looking for addresses (e-mail, snail mail, telephone, etc.) of people who were in our ministry during the 70's and 80's at Calvary Baptist in Shreveport. We are attempting to have a great Reunion on January 5, 2007. If you are one of those blessed people write or call me today.

ROMANIA - 2006

Ann and I had a wonderful trip to Romania. We were with a precious group of folks from Alabama. Dr. Mike Goforth is the pastor of Sardis Baptist Church in Boaz, AL and has been leading groups to this beautiful country for more than 15 years.

We had 16 people on our team. Bart Box from First Baptist - Arley, Al, Ron Horton from Haleyville, AL, Richard Crumpton from Haleyville, and Zach Goforth from Prattville, AL were our preachers. Praise the Lord for over 185 professions of faith and many other decisions.

It was a special joy on this our 7th trip to renew acquaintance with many we had ministered to on precious trips. Romania still has many needs both spiritually and financially. It seems the better they become financially the more difficult it is to get them to come to church. Reminds me of my country.

Thanks to all of you who have prayed for us and given so that we could take the gospel. My goal was to distribute 1,000 of the witness armbands to the Romanian Christians. We left 75 with a dear pastor to use for a camp this summer and PTL that accomplished our goal. These wrist bands are so attractive and easy to use.
