October 31 - A Special Day for Price and Ann
From one pumpkin to another!!!!!!!
A woman was asked by a coworker, "What is it like to be a Christian?"
The coworker replied, "It is like being a pumpkin." God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.
Ann and I share so much in common in our 43 year marriage. However, the most precious is that we were saved on the same day of the year. We were not saved the same year, but we both came to know Christ on Haloween Day!
I was a student at William Carey College, and had been a minister of music for several years. I was pursuing a church music degree but there were serious doubts about whether I was going to heaven. After hearing a message one night on the Pharisee and the Publican in Luke 18, I prayed and settled that question once and for all. I am so grateful for Pastor Charles Williams and the Central Baptist Church in Hattiesburg for planning that revival. Having Jesus makes a difference.
Soon after I was saved, I met Ann. She was singing the choir at Calvary Baptist in Columbia, MS. We dated for four months then were married. After we moved to First Baptist Church in Satsuma, AL, Ann began to confess to me that she was not sure about her salvation. We were working with Bro. "Step" Martin, and his messages cut to the heart of her need. On a Saturday morning after much heart searching, Ann prayed and was saved.
For several years while I was working with Singles in Shreveport we would have a Spiritual Birthday Party on October 31. Praise the Lord for a know-so salvation. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Check out needgod.com if you have any doubt!!
