Dear Friend,

We were so blessed to go again to the border of Mexico over Labor Day weekend. The picture is Pastor Carlos Mesa, who is the pastor of the Spanish church sponsored by Calvary Baptist here in Shreveport. His passion for the souls of men, coupled with his fluency in the Spanish language make him a valuable part of the team. He was the man who made the appeal at the end of our meetings. Only heaven will reveal how many were saved as a result of the witness of the 66 people who lost a couple of nights sleep to be missionaries for the weekend.

Thanks so much for helping us continue to stay involved in evangelism. When you read this we will either be on our way to Romania, or we will be there already. God bless you for your faithfulness. I'll be a year older the day before we leave (September 3)

Pray for our trip to Australia in November. I will be going with my friend Dr. Robert Meyer for most of the month. We will be visiting churches in several areas of that vast continent to encourage and share the gospel. I understand that there is coldness toward the things of God. I want to be used of God there. Robert is a long time friend. We attended Clarke College in Newton, MS together. He was so instrumental in my coming to know Christ in a personal way! He serves as the Southeast Asia Director of Baptist International Missions in Chattanooga, TN.

Also begin to pray and put on your calendar our 2009 Night of Praise. January 9 is the day – Millions for Missions will be our goal. Plan to save your pennies and bring them that evening as a testimony to the cause of Christ. Johnny Par rack is coming with the Allen’s, the Needhams, and a new friend, Cheri Taylor. Pray for a great crowd and the presence of the Lord.
